Destiny

Many feel that their destiny lies in the hands of that mysterious entity called “Fate”.  This is not an accurate view.  We need to understand that our destiny is a choice.  Fate doesn’t control our destiny.  No matter what our physical destiny in life ends up being, as long as, we make choices based on Christ’s leadership and live out our lives based on our citizenship in Heaven, God will use us and our destiny to glorify Him.

Everyone leaves a legacy behind.  Some are good legacies by the world’s standards, others are not.  As Christians our goal should be to leave a godly and good legacy behind when we go to be with the Lord.  Like the Israelites, God has brought us out of Egypt or sin and given us a good land to possess.  Our new life in Christ must not be stalled out wondering in the desert like the Israelites did.  We must go live our new life in the good land.  With God we will conquer the giants we meet and we will do good for others in the process that glorifies God.  First we have a “to do” list to accomplish to be able to leave that legacy behind.

Everyone chooses the life they want to live and the sacrifices they will make to live it.  The question is, “Are you a living sacrifice for God?”  “Are you willing to make the necessary sacrifices to live the life Christ intends for you to live?”  “Will your life be like a drink offering that goes up in a puff of smoke?”

Christians mature at different rates of speed.  Maturity in the Lord comes not with age, but with a desire for spiritual vitality.

Hungry

Adam and Eve were given truth by God and did not hunger after it.  Instead, they hungered after what they should not have.  God allows us to hunger, to teach us about ourselves.  Jesus is the Bread of life and He gives us truth that we can live by.  What are you hungry for?

Sand Castles

As we begin this New Year, it is important to think about what we are building our life on.  Are we building it on the truth?  Are we standing for the truth when it is attacked by Satan or the World?  Is our life like a Sand Castle easily washed way when the storms hit?

The Wisemen brought Baby Jesus gifts, but what can we bring Jesus?  Jesus told us himself what gifts to bring.

Was Jesus’ goal to come to earth to save mankind from their sin and redeem them?  Or was there another more ultimate goal that God had in mind for Jesus?

It’s important to keep Jesus as the center and focus of our Christmas season.  Do your Christmas traditions bring your focus on to the Birth of Christ our Savior?

Share

Jesus uses some strong words to reveal how important it is that we have received Him and that we then share our hope with others.  We need to remember that sharing the gospel message will cause division amongst our family and friends.  However, we must hang in there and stand for Christ, despite any persecution or rejection.  We can witness to others using their questions about the signs of the times they are seeing.  We can also be straightforward and share with them that they will be judged for their sin, and that now is the day of their salvation and they should not be slow in accepting Jesus.  We can be thankful for all the opportunities that God provides for us to share His good news with others, because it is a chance to provide hope to the hurting and lost.
