Most birds spend great amounts of their own energy flapping their wings to fly short distances, whereas, Eagles depend on the thermals that rise from the surface of the Earth for their energy source to fly longer distances by soaring in the invisible updrafts these thermals create. The question is whether as Christians or the Church Body are we depending on the thermal updrafts of God provided by His Holy Spirit to carry us along as we live and do His work? Or are we like the world, living without depending on His Holy Spirit and frantically flapping our wings to get through life?

As with any human body, the head or the brain is what causes the other parts to operate and do their job. Therefore the body parts are dependent on the head/brain. So to, are Christians. Christ is our head and we are to be dependent on Him as individual parts and as a whole functioning body.

Last week we learned that when a person receives Christ as their Savior, they enter the New Covenant with God. A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and a person or group of people. This week Pastor Terry teaches us about the New Covenant between God’s people that exists.

When a person receives Christ as their Savior, they enter the New Covenant with God. A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and a person. Our covenant with God is to be taken even more seriously then we take a legal agreement with other humans. We we keep our part of the covenant, we are blessed.

When Jesus died, there was an earthquake. When Jesus arose, there was an earthquake. God physically and spiritually shook the world to demonstrate this cosmic event. In Roman culture a triumphant Roman general is celebrated for his victorious campaign. As the conquering troops, parade through the city, they shout “Triumph!” Today, we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on what we call Palm Sunday. We are to live in a continual triumphal march that began that day long ago. The triumphal procession in which we march is headed by Jesus, the Conqueror. He is conqueror over sin and death. As His sacrifice on Calvary was pleasing aroma to God, we are to continue on following Him giving off the fragrance of the knowledge of Him as we march as a pleasing aroma to God.

No government, kingdom or ruling power is equal to or higher than God’s Kingdom on Earth, because Christ rules by the power of truth! Christ came to share truth with the World. Like Christ we are called to share truth in love with those inside the Church and with those outside the Church.

It seems everywhere we look, that darkness is growing in this world. We see darkness spreading in families, schools, our towns, our government and our world. The news is filled with darkness. Jesus came into this world to bring the light and dispel the darkness. He left that light in us to shine out and continue the process of dispelling the darkness.

Living in this world can be like living in a desert. The world is a place that leaves us thirsty and unsatisfied. Christ is that rock that was split by Moses in the wilderness that provided living water that quenched their thirst physically and spiritually. He can also provide us with living water in this dry world that leaves us thirsty.
