The Word Infusion

We start a new book of the Bible Study in Thessalonians.  This book was written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Thessalonica to encourage them on in their faith.  They were a highly persecuted church whose faithful stand was testified to in the known world.  Paul commended them for that and prayed for them to continue being faithful.

Pastor Terry encourages us to take the opportunity and choose to be clothed in the righteous character of Christ.  We are to put on with excellence our spiritual attire.  The most important of which is love.

There is some great advice in Chapter 4 of the book to the Colossians.  A reminder of how are to live and speak.  We are be watched by those around us and we are a witness of Christ in our lives to them.  We also need to remember our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord who serve faithfully.

Would God choose you out of a line up of people to serve Him and lead His people, because you have a heart of integrity?  Are you the same person in private that you show to other publically?  Pastor Terry encourages us to achieve excellence in the area of integrity in our lives in this message.

In Colossians Chapter 3 Part II, we learn how to conduct ourselves in relationships within the church family, our personal families, and the community.  We are to honor God through our relationships.

Pastor Terry provides us with some new insights in to why we need to strive for excellence even in the Lord's Supper.  To partake of the Lord's Supper is to profess our faith in Christ, our Savior, and to affirm our union with Christ amongst one another.  It is to commit ourselves to life in Christ.

In this lesson Pastor Terry encourages us to change our focus.  Think on things above, not on earthly things.  Put on the new self that comes when we accept Jesus in to our heart.  We have been chosen of God and we need to have a new heart and new ways.

A healthy church requires its members to be achieving excellence in Koinonia/Fellowship.  Fellowship through Bible Studies, Worship Services, Work Days, Outtings, Social Events, and Potlucks are some of the ways this can be achieved.  Listen to Pastor Terry as he explains why Fellowship is so important to the health and growth of a church.

We continue our study of Chapter 2 in the Book of Colossians.  We need to remember that Christ is the Head of the body.  We are the body.  Without Him the body would die.  He supplies what we need to live.  He controls the flow of life giving supplies we need to thrive.  He brings the growth.  Rules, laws, ceremonies are not the key to our spiritual life, Christ is.
