The Word Infusion

James addresses the conflict between those who believe faith is all we need and those who believe that works is necessary to be saved.  He will show us examples of the genuine faith of old testament Saints who showed their faith by their works.  Genuine faith will always naturally result in good works.

Last week we looked at how important it is for us to take even one small step at a time in our walk with Lord.  This week Pastor Terry shows us how important it is that we keep up those footsteps of faith.  We need to remember that the righteous live by faith, not by sight.  By faith we need to reach forward to what is ahead.  Our faithful steps will lead to even greater faith in our God.

In this Chapter the Apostle Paul warns the church that its people should not be idle.  Everyone must work for their food.  Yes, we must help those in true need, but it is expected that one must be willing to work if they can.  Laziness has no place amongst God's people.

Just as it took Neil Armstrong small steady steps down the ladder of Apollo 11 in 1969 to be the first human to step on the moon, contant steps of faith brings new life in Christ to those who believe in Jesus.  Pastor Terry shows us in Luke Chapter 5 how one small step of obedience is just as important to Jesus as launching out into the deep.

The man of lawlessness is discussed in this chapter.  We are reminded to not be shaken or disturbed by rumors that go around about end times.  Don't be deceived, know your scripture and what it says about end times.  Stand firm!

In this first half of James Chapter 2, Pastor Terry will speak to us about prejudice.  James makes it clear that Christians who are to glorify the Lord should not be prejudice or show partiality for one person over another.  We are all equal in God's eyes.  We are to love others, as we love ourselves.

To walk in the Lord's Will is to know true value in life.  Are you walking circumspectly?  Are you building on the foundation of Jesus Christ?  Are you building with gold and silver or with hay and wood?  All questions we should be asking ourselves regularly.

Our response in faith to trials and tribulations is a witness to all those around us.  The Apostle Paul reminds us that we need to walk worthy of our calling and fulfill every work of faith.

Pastor Terry shows how the devil uses a technique similar to crabbing to lure us in with temptation to sin.  He also reminds us that we need to evaluate our selves as seriously as we evaluate our looks in the mirror.  When we find our hair messed up, we don't just walk away from the mirror.  It's the same in our walk with the Lord.  We need to look in to our spiritual mirror and fix our selves up.
