The Word Infusion

Intervention is a natural and godly characteristic of fathers.  We take a look at this through Jairus, Jesus and ourselves.  Happy Father's Day to all our Dad's out there.

Last week our message was about how "There's Life in Death".  We need to die to ourselves and live for Christ.  This weeks message is about finding our life by following Christ.  We must build our life on Christ the rock.  We will learn in this message that to be a follower of Christ we must walk with Jesus every day, be willing to give up all for Christ, be active in reaching the lost for Christ, and be without excuse in building our life on Christ.

Peter begins by remind us that we need to change our ways when we become a Christian.  To help us to change we need to desire God's Word in our lives and remember how much grace and mercy the Lord has shown us.  He then reminds us that Jesus is the "cornerstone" that gives strength to God's building and we are living stones that are built upon Christ.

Angels look in to our lives to learn about our relationship with Jesus.  Therefore we need to be strong and live the Christian life we are called to live.  We must be Holy as God is Holy.  We need to look to our hope in Christ to help us through the difficult times as we walk through our lives on this earth.

In Chapter 7 of our study in Acts the Church on Fire, we learn that as Christians we need to not defend ourselves when accusations are made against us due to our faith, but instead to defend Jesus.  Stephen gives a great history lesson to those who are accusing him and in the end is rewarded by Jesus with a vision of Him in Heaven.  No matter what comes against, we must not fear.  We are not to please men, but are to please God.

As Christ denied His life to give life; so we also must deny ourselves to know life in Christ!  Saying "Yes" to God and "No" to self is the only way one truely becomes what they were made to be!

We begin our study in I Peter Chapter 1 with an introduction about the Apostle Peter, and Galileans of the day.  During this time period the persecution of Christians was taking place and they were scattered throughout the known world as a result.  Peter reminds those who were scattered that they had a living hope through Jesus.

Memorial Day is the time we remember the courage and the faith of those who have gone before us, but more importantly we must remember some key things about God.  We must remember His greatness and glory, His judgments, His love and His grace.

As the Apostle Paul writes his last letter to Timothy and prepares to leave this Earth for Heaven, he reminds Timothy in this last chapter of II Timothy that he needs to be ready to preach the word in season and out of season.  He warns him that people will not want to hear sound doctrine as the last days progress.  He encourages Timothy to remain strong during those times and continue on fulfilling his call to ministry.  Paul gives us some personal insight in to his own life at that time that teaches us that sometimes we too will be abandoned by friends due to or faithful stand in the Lord.
