God is a miracle working God and He wants you to experience His miracle working power. We may think our problems are insurmountable and cannot be overcome or changed. But He is able to do far more abundantly than we can ask or think. So in these trying and unique times we are living, we need to ask Him for boldness and His power to work through us to witness in love to this world. Difficulty is the bully that steps into our path and tries to wrestle us to the ground and pin us until we cry “Uncle!” No matter what we are trying to do, if it is worthwhile, the bully will try to outshout both God and our own thoughts until he confuses us. The bully loves to sing about hurdles that have been around since the beginning of time. Isn’t that what Goliath, the Giant bully, was really saying to the Israelites? You’re too small, too weak, too insignificant! David, the young shepherd, had the right perspective about himself and God. He had faith in who God is and who he was. With that perspective he overcame the giant bully in his life. We need to let God take down the bully in our life. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

We are not only called to “put off the old man” in Ephesians 4: 22-24, but we must be willing also for God to put the branding of shame, sufferings and misunderstanding on our lives, as Jesus did from childhood through the Cross. This too is another phase of holding up the “Banner of Love”!

It is easy for us to hold up “The Banner of Love” during the height of spiritual experience with God, but we are challenged in the face of that “roaring lion” who seeks to devour us, to courageously and joyfully hold up that “Banner of Love” for Him!
