Last week we looked at the Veterans or Heroes of the Faith found in Hebrews 11: 1 – 7. We saw how our Christian faith must be upheld that others may see the Truth of God so they can enjoy the freedom that Christ provides. This week we continue this look in to our personal faith and learn that we are temporary residents heading for a new homeland where we will enjoy our new citizenship. Greeting the promises of God head on like the Heroes of Faith taught us, we are to live in such a way as to demonstrate our new homeland faith. We are to set our eyes on things above and not on things of this earth.

Today Pastor Terry preaches his first sermon since having open heart surgery six weeks ago. Continue to remember him in prayer while he recovers. This weekend we honor our Veterans and their families who have upheld America’s values and made sacrifices for the freedoms we hold dear. Likewise, the Christian faith must be upheld that others may see the Truth of God so they can enjoy the freedom that Christ provides.

What a compliment that is and yet, are we really “People of the Book”? What do “People of the Book” really think, and act like?
