After many years of bad economy, political and social changes, world instability, terrorism, moral decline, natural disasters, personal, relational and economic problems, and not the least the ever-increasing Christian persecution, we can become weary and discouraged. But through it all, as we look to God, He guides us and provides grace in every given need and situation. For this we are grateful with thankful hearts to God! We can find encouragement from the example of those who went before us and suffered, and by remembering Christ who endured much for us and we will not grow weary or discouraged as a result.

It is always an amazing thing when our children are born and come out looking like us. And it is really cool when they actually learn positive things from us and use them out throughout their lives. Unfortunately, too many Christians of our day seem to be totally unconcerned with the need to be conformed to the image of Christ as they were born to be as we read about in Romans 8: 29. The decision you made to receive Christ as your Savior was your first step in making your decision to stand for Christ! It takes faith to have the courage to publicly profess your faith in Christ, likewise it takes faith to have courage to continually stand for Christ. Taking your stand for Christ is your decision. When we make the decision to stand for God and His Word, we do not try to combine the way of the world with the way of God.

The Bible teaches us and in fact commands us to be perfect!? Why would God command us to do something that we know is impossible this side of heaven? Everyone has a sinful nature and lives in a sinful world. When we come upon scripture that does not make sense to us, then we’ve come to a place in scripture that has a deep truth for us to learn. In this message we will look at this command to be perfect in Matthew 5:48.
