In 1972, a Christian movie called, “A Thief in the Night” debuted. It told the story of Patty, who woke up to find out that her husband had been raptured and that she was left behind. She had been short-sighted, before the Rapture. She didn’t join her husband in believing. She did not have clarity of vision in life and did not look forward to the Lord’s coming. Spiritual clarity in life begins when we receive Christ as Savior, then with each step of obedience we gain clearer vision and stay focused on our future. During times like these we all need some clarity. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

“What the World Needs Now” was a popular song that was released in 1965. When you study the history of 1965, you read of one tragedy, disaster, upheaval or problem after another. The people were hurting and some were scared. It is no wonder that song was a number one hit. It is not much different than today. We are going through trying times and people are hurting and scared. What the world needs now is love. God’s love is the best way to help others in this crazy world. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

Today, for Easter Sunday, we gathered together in the Church Parking Lot for a “Drive-In” Church Worship Service. Everyone here today is celebrating our Risen Lord. The Good News of the Salvation He brought through His death and Resurrection gives us hope now. Hope that carries us through good and bad times. We need to share that Good News of His Resurrection and the hope He gives to everyone we meet when we drive back out of our churches and in to our communities. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

One of the things God is trying to teach all of us is to have courage and keep moving forward towards the goals and purposes He has for us. God has a plan and a purpose in everything He allows to happen in our lives. Jesus demonstrated the courage to keep moving forward in His Father’s plans and purposes for Him many times in His time on earth through threat of life, danger and ridicule by others. Mr. Rogers demonstrated his faith to a watching world. He helped children learn to deal with their emotions, like fear and anger. He taught everyone to be kind to their neighbor. Today, across the world we are seeing fear, worry, anger, frustration, sadness and panic. Many people are expressing a variety of emotions in face of uncertainty. As a result we have seen: panic, selling off stocks, hoarding and fights. And…We have seen others demonstrate love and kindness to their neighbors. We could all be more like Mr. Rogers, but better yet, more like Jesus! Many of us feel like we need to do what it takes to survive right now. We want to have enough money for bills, and food for our families. The number one rule in any survival situation is this: Don’t Panic! #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga
