The Israelites had been waiting for the promised Messiah for centuries and during the last 430 years they had not heard a word from the Lord at all. The silence was suddenly ended with a message from God through the angel Gabriel. A prophetic message of great joy to an aging priest and his wife that would be a great answer to prayer.

Sometimes we will face barriers, obstacles, difficult circumstances, overwhelming needs, problem people, mountain-sized situations, or uncomfortable or new areas of ministry that we are unable to do without God stepping in and showing His power and might. First we must cry out to God and when He answers us with assurance of victory, we must step out in faith on His Word and take action. Then we will see God do mighty and miraculous things for us, through us and around us.

The Lord has a zeal for His House. He wants His House to be a House of Prayer. He wants His body of believers to unite with a Christ-like Mind and pray fervently in His House. He wants us to call upon Him. He wants us to depend on Him as a united body. Prayer is where it all begins. Without prayer, individual Christians and God’s Church will go nowhere. We are called on to make God’s House of Prayer and let Him do the rest.

Our salvation begins when we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Once we have done that we can never lose our salvation, but where does our being “saved” go from there? Biblically “To be saved” is defined three ways and today, we will look at the three tenses (past, present and future) of being saved.

The last few weeks we have looked at being devoted to God, worshiping God, and sharing the fruit of God. As a result of being devoted to God and worshiping God, we will also be able to trust God. We can trust in the Lord, because we have grown close to Him through devotion, worship and bearing fruit. We can hear His voice and receive His direction. We can understand His love and know that He is in control and will provide. We can learn to trust in the Lord and not ourselves.

Two weeks ago we looked at the Veterans or Heroes of the Faith found in Hebrews 11: 1 – 7. We saw how our Christian faith must be upheld that others may see the Truth of God so they can enjoy the freedom that Christ provides. Last week we continued this look in to our personal faith and learn that we are temporary residents heading for a new homeland where we will enjoy our new citizenship. Greeting the promises of God head on like the Heroes of Faith taught us, we are to live in such a way as to demonstrate our new homeland faith. We are to set our eyes on things above and not on things of this earth. This week Pastor Terry concludes this series on Faith by reminding us that as Christians we should have a thankful faith that rejoices, because it sees "Hope" in God in all things.

We are constantly bombarded with news of: Bombings, Wars, Uprisings, Riots, Spying, Government Wrong Doings, Persecution, Bankruptcies, Ungodly laws, Health problems, Accidents, Broken Relationships, and Financial Problems. Sometimes it can become overwhelming. God has given us a way to live through these difficult times and situations. We need to hold on to hope that is found in God's Word. We need to spur on one another to love and good works through encouragement during fellowship. Lastly, we need to value worshiping together.

Americans have been blessed to enjoy many freedoms. Many of us are noticing that are freedoms are being lessened and or taken away little by little. It is nothing new for laws of a land to endeavor to stop the “Voice” of Truth. We may be called on soon to make the choice between obeying man’s law or God. Our voice is evidence of our choice to stand on God’s Word. Without a voice we will lose our freedom. What choice will you make with your voice.
