Today, we conclude our message series on the Beatitudes of Matthew Chapter 5. Our last message series dealt with our union with Christ and what that meant. This message series is meant to take us to the next level in that union with Christ living it out in this world. The life Jesus describes in the “Sermon on the Mount” is impossible for us to accomplish on our own. The Kingdom Life is only possible if we are united to the King.  Our union with Christ is the gateway to this new life. And today Pastor will discuss the final beatitude, persecution. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga #TheKingdomLife

We are not only called to “put off the old man” in Ephesians 4: 22-24, but we must be willing also for God to put the branding of shame, sufferings and misunderstanding on our lives, as Jesus did from childhood through the Cross.  This too is another phase of holding up the “Banner of Love”!

Today, we continue our series of messages called, “The Exchanged Life!”  We will be looking at Christian Men and Women who’ve experienced such change.  As a result of their exchanged lives, their lives were in total surrender to the Holy Spirit.

God revealed his plan for Joseph through two dreams.  Those dreams led to both good and bad things in his life, both of which were used to transform Joseph from a lad ripe with the ability to become arrogant into a godly man who would reign just under Pharaoh and save his family and the future of Israel.  Today, we will explore where dreams can lead.

After many years of bad economy, political and social changes, world instability, terrorism, moral decline, natural disasters, personal, relational and economic problems, and not the least the ever-increasing Christian persecution, we can become weary and discouraged.  But through it all, as we look to God, He guides us and provides grace in every given need and situation.  For this we are grateful with thankful hearts to God!  We can find encouragement from the example of those who went before us and suffered, and by remembering Christ who endured much for us and we will not grow weary or discouraged as a result.

To live for Jesus takes courage to endure the hardships that come as a direct result of standing for Christ as your Savior.  Like a boxer that has been knocked down to the mat, learn from the experience and get back up and fight again.  Keep enduring, keep standing!

The West (United States, Canada, Europe,  & Australia) statistically are seeing many changes in population ethnicity groups, income levels and in their amount of missions thrust or interest in sharing the gospel with others.  Whereas, other countries found in Latin America, Africa and Asia are experiencing an explosion of people coming to the Lord and in sending out missionaries (even here to America).  Even under severe persecution the people of these countries are committing to following and serving the Lord, as well as, sharing the gospel, even if it means their lives.  Why is that?  Why is there a difference between the West and the East?  What does God expect Christians in the West to be doing?  (We begin this message with a presentation of the Gideon's International Ministry)

Kyle Idleman reminded us in his book, “Not a Fan”, that Jesus was never interested in fans. He wanted true followers. To be a true follower we must expect sacrifice and going beyond our comfort zone. We will not be following Jesus for what He gives us. We are not to sit in the stadium and cheer Jesus us on, we are to be down on the field with Jesus running the race. We will be straining our muscles, and striving to win the race. We will immediately follow Him when He calls and we will become fishers of men. We will take up our cross daily as we follow Him. Only with that will we be found worthy to follow Him.
