We are not only called to “put off the old man” in Ephesians 4: 22-24, but we must be willing also for God to put the branding of shame, sufferings and misunderstanding on our lives, as Jesus did from childhood through the Cross. This too is another phase of holding up the “Banner of Love”!

It is on the mountain tops of spiritual experience with our Lord and Savior, Jesus, that we experience a deeper love for Him as He reveals His love for us. It is easy for us to hold up “The Banner of Love” during the height of spiritual experience with God, but we are challenged in the face of that “roaring lion” who seeks to devour us, to courageously and joyfully hold up that “Banner of Love” for Him!

Our love relationship with God must make steps of growth. It is not enough to receive Jesus as Savior and then enjoy a private faith afterwards. The Lord expects us to take our private faith public into the world. We may face trials when we enter the world carrying our banner of love and faith, but it is in those trials that we will grow and our love will be proved. We must be careful not to fall into Spiritual Agoraphobia after receiving Christ

Our love for God is based on the marvelous work He did on our behalf on the Cross and through His Resurrection. In the beginning our love for Him was new and fresh. But this first love of victory in Christ is only the beginning of a great love relationship with God, a love relationship that God is ready to reveal to us when we’re ready to receive it. This first love experience with Jesus our Savior is just the beginning of a great and unexpected love relationship with Him.

We conclude today with part 3 of our series today “Set Free”. We have been given the liberty to do and choose how we want to live our lives in Christ. It is expected by God that after we have received “liberty” in Christ, we are to choose to serve one another, this in essence is serving Christ. Next we have been given liberty with all of God’s resources and guidance to transform the world and turn it upside down for the Lord. We have been set free to help set others free!

We have been given the liberty to do and choose how we want to live our lives in Christ. God does not want us to fight or quarrel against the Holy Spirit. Even though we have the liberty to choose to satisfy our own sinful nature God wants us to yield to His ways. We have been set free to live!

On Sundays we come to worship God. Worship is simply enjoying the presence of God. We can enjoy his presence through prayer, learning, singing praises and hearing His Word through a message. This doesn’t just have to happen on Sunday. We can enjoy God’s Manifest Presence every day of the week.

Many times when a person has a heart attack, it is because they have not taken care of their heart. As a result, the heart attack may leave permanent damage that causes the heart to not work effectively. The body can no longer perform effective labor. The same is true with our spiritual hearts. They must be cared for. Today, we will ask four questions to help us synchronize our heart for effective labor.
