They are lying on the side of so many roads, left behind by abuse, addiction, imprisonment, loss, famine, disease, violence, tyranny and oppression. There are people who are broken by injustice, stripped of their belongings, dignity, identity and self-worth. As Christians we can show compassion to people who are hurting or in need. We just need to cross the street, stop and stoop, and go out to the weary and scattered and lead them to the Shepherd. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

We all need to remember that Jesus died for everyone in the World and that we need to not show contempt towards those who oppose us or are different than us. Instead we need to show God’s love, compassion and kindness towards one another with the goal of teaching others about God’s love for them. We must fight against contempt. #fsbcsermon #fsbccoalinga

Today, we continue our message series on the Beatitudes of Matthew Chapter 5. Our last message series dealt with our union with Christ and what that meant. This message series is meant to take us to the next level in that union with Christ living it out in this world. The life Jesus describes in the “Sermon on the Mount” is impossible for us to accomplish on our own. The Kingdom Life is only possible if we are united to the King. Our union with Christ is the gateway to this new life. It seems everywhere we look, that darkness is growing in this world. We see darkness spreading in families, schools, our towns, our government and our world. The news is filled with darkness. Jesus came into this world to bring the light and dispel the darkness. He left that light in us to shine out and continue the process of dispelling the darkness.
