In California and the West Coast of the United States there is a drought.  Dry, hard cracking fields abound.  Yet, there is a more important drought in the West and all over the world.  It is a spiritual drought.  Dry, hard and cracking hearts abound.  People who need to know the Lord are in a spiritual drought.  Thankfully, with the outpouring of God’s power by the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s life, those people who are in spiritual drought can also receive an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in to their lives when we witness and share the good news with them and they accept the Lord.  Through us the Holy Spirit can work in His power to outpour spiritual water on the dry fields in the world and bring forth a fruitful crop for the Lord.

The greatest testament to God’s love for us, is that He sent His Son to die on the cross for us, when we were still sinners.  When we accepted that act of love and received Jesus into our hearts we received from the Holy Spirit the outpouring of God’s love.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday.  Last week, Pastor Terry spoke about getting off the sidelines and out in to God’s game on the field.  This week, he reminds us that God has revealed the game plan to us in Mark 16:15.  All we need to do to accomplish this plan, even if it means getting out of our comfort zone, is go share the good news of Jesus Christ our Savior with others.  God has already paved the way for us to be able to reach the lost.  If we don’t share our faith, we are also reminded to watch out for the evangelism linebacker!

Next Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday.  A time of year that many football fans look forward to. Football fans are basically “sideliners”.  They love the game, may have learned how to play the game, but do not participate.  Unlike the football players that are on the team and that sit on the benches waiting to be called in to the game, Jesus does not have only certain players playing, He calls everyone out on to the field. How many of us consider the work of Christ our personal responsibility?  How many of us understand that He has called us to seize our divine destiny.

Sometimes we are busy doing good things for the Lord and we think we are going in the right direction as we follow Him.  And yet, God will use whatever means possible to redirect us to His best plan for us.  Sometimes He may even communicate His will or plan with us when we are in an unconscious state.  That’s when being unconscious has benefits!

Have you ever faced a moment filled with opportunity and, yet you let it slip away?  Have you ever known you should go to the right, but you went to the left? Has it ever been in your power to do good, but you chose instead to do nothing? Today, we are going to look at a critical moment of divine destiny in the lives of 2 men.  One made the right choice.  He said, “Come Let’s Go!” and he went out and seized his divine destiny.

Today’s message concludes our series of messages based on some of our favorite Christmas Songs of Faith. Last week we examined “Joy to the World”.  We looked at the three reasons this babe in the manger brings joy to the whole world found in Luke 2:11 taught to us by the angel who proclaimed this good news.  This week our song reminds us that we now need to share the good news of the birth of Christ and by going, and telling it on the mountain and everywhere…

As you might remember, we started a series of messages based on some of our favorite Christmas Songs of Faith. Last time, we looked at the song “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear” and focused on the peace that Jesus would bring to this whole world during the Millennium time period.  This week we are examining verse 1 of “Joy to the World”.  We will be looking at the three reasons this babe in the manger brings joy to the whole world found in Luke 2:11 taught to us by the angel who proclaimed this good news.

As you might remember, we started a series of messages based on some of our favorite Christmas Songs of Faith. Last time, we looked at the song “We Three Kings of Orient Are” and focused on those three special gifts the Wise Men brought to the new born King and the three gifts He gave to us in return.  This week we are examining two verses from the song “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear”.  We will be taking a look at the angel’s message of peace and the prophecy foretold in this song.
