Jesus uses some strong words to reveal how important it is that we have received Him and that we then share our hope with others. We need to remember that sharing the gospel message will cause division amongst our family and friends. However, we must hang in there and stand for Christ, despite any persecution or rejection. We can witness to others using their questions about the signs of the times they are seeing. We can also be straightforward and share with them that they will be judged for their sin, and that now is the day of their salvation and they should not be slow in accepting Jesus. We can be thankful for all the opportunities that God provides for us to share His good news with others, because it is a chance to provide hope to the hurting and lost.

There are many characters in stories, myths and legends that are known as Fire Bringers to mankind. Gods like Prometheus, Agni and Pele are pale imitations of our True God and Fire Bringer, Jesus. At the end of Luke 12 we learn how Jesus came to bring fire on the earth. A fire that would ignite men’s hearts on fire for God.

Previously, in Luke 12, Jesus had taught that His servants needed to be ready and waiting for their Master’s return. In this message, Jesus will give a difficult answer to Peter’s question in response to Jesus’ parable about who are the servants who are to be ready and waiting. Jesus will explain about who the good and bad stewards are and what the Master will do in response to their service when He returns.
