The Word Infusion

In today's Bible Study the Apostle Peter teaches us that when we follow Christ we should begin to see changes in our lifestyles.  We should stop walking in our fleshly desires and lusts and show the world we are true followers of Christ.  It is God's Will that we change.  If we continue in our worldly ways we will give ourselves and Christ a bad name.  We are to be serving God for His glory. We begin with review in verses 13 – 18 regarding suffering for right and for wrong.  Then we get in to the new verses for this study in verses 19 through 22.  Peter teaches about Christ’s suffering and our suffering.  Then Peter uses the story of Noah’s Ark to teach us about salvation and baptism.

In this message, Pastor Terry challenges us not to blur the truth of God's Word with deception and compromise.  He reminds us to be devoted to loving the greatest treasure in life, Christ the Lord!

We will take a look at Saul's on the Road to Damascus from three different passages in the book of Acts.  Saul undergoes a sudden and dramatic change to his life through his experience with Jesus.  We see the faith and obedience of Ananias as he ministers to Saul/Paul.  Paul immediately begins to serve the Lord by spreading the good news.

Guest Speaker Dr. Rich Johnstone shows that being sent is a normal part of the church's life.  Our original example comes from the Father sending Jesus and then Jesus sending out His disciples.  Next we see the Church sending out Paul and Barnabas.  Each follower of Christ has been sent.  Where is He sending you?

We all have those times when we enter a spiritual slump.  The key is recognizing it and working on retrieving our spiritual edge.  Guest Speaker Dr. Ed Huffman will help us with this process in this message.

Why do some people struggle when the gospel is presented to them?  Some people will request more proof before they will even think about making a decision to receive Christ.  It was the same in Jesus' time on Earth.  The Jews wanted to see signs and the Greeks wanted wisdom.  We will see in this message how man's reasoning and wisdom is mastered by God's wisdom in the end.

We start this Bible Study out with verses that remind us of how we are to treat our brothers and sisters in the Lord.  We also learn that by treating others right we will be blessed.  The Apostle Peter will then go on to show us how to learn to love life and see good days. Peter will also teach us in this study that we must expect to suffer even when we are doing right.
