Daniel Chapter 6 shows every Christian what to do when faced with man made laws that oppose God's laws or ways. Jealousy of other Babylonian/Persian government leaders leads to the making of a law that places every captive Jew, including Daniel in danger of losing their life. What choice does Daniel make? In this Chapter we have a new king sitting on the throne in Babylon who makes the most serious mistake he could make. God sends him a message that scares him. Daniel is brought out of retirement to come and interpret the sign from God. When he does, God sets his judgement in to action and that king's reign is ended. In the Book of Daniel we come to the time in Israel's history where the monarchy ends in Israel due to the King's rebellion to God and to Babylon. Babylon lays 3 sieges to Israel and destroys Jerusalem in the final siege. During the process the people were taken captive. We come to Babylon and meet 4 godly Israelite young men in capitivity. They put God first and God honors them even there. Daniel is our main character that leads the young men in Chapter One to stick to what they learned in Israel. They follow their Mosaic laws and eat what they should eat despite the pressures of their new kingdom. As a result God blesses them with positions withing their enemies government.
