This brings to mind the classic movie, where, George Bailey learned that his life did matter in spite of the trials and troubles he had in it. He learned that God had used his life to make a difference for the better in the lives of individuals in his community and even in the world. Today’s message concludes our series of messages based on some of our favorite Christmas Songs of Faith. Last week we examined “Joy to the World”. We looked at the three reasons this babe in the manger brings joy to the whole world found in Luke 2:11 taught to us by the angel who proclaimed this good news. As you might remember, we started a series of messages based on some of our favorite Christmas Songs of Faith. Last time, we looked at the song “We Three Kings of Orient Are” and focused on those three special gifts the Wise Men brought to the new born King and the three gifts He gave to us in return. This week we are examining two verses from the song “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear”. We will be taking a look at the angel’s message of peace and the prophecy foretold in this song.

During December we enjoy the songs of the Christmas Season. Some are funny like, “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” and some are memory filled like “White Christmas”. Then there are the Christmas Songs of our faith. The Christmas Songs that tell the story. Today, we sang “We Three Kings of Orient Are”. The lyrics of this song tell of the story of the Three Wise Men or Three Kings that came bearing gifts for the New King. They were gifts that foretold the new King’s future and of the Spiritual gifts that He would give each believer in return.

When Jesus was born, the Shepherds came and bowed before Him. When Jesus was a small child, the Wise Men came and bowed before Him. Both events are a prophetic picture of a time when all mankind will bow before Him in the future and not only mankind, but the everything in God’s creation above the Earth and below.
