When Jesus was born, the Shepherds came and bowed before Him. When Jesus was a small child, the Wise Men came and bowed before Him.  Both events are a prophetic picture of a time when all mankind will bow before Him in the future and not only mankind, but the everything in God’s creation above the Earth and below.

German scientists using Ytterbium Ions have come up with what they think is an atomic clock with the most precise timing.  The new ability is nothing in comparison to God’s precise timing with the birth of Jesus.

Was Jesus’ goal to come to earth to save mankind from their sin and redeem them?  Or was there another more ultimate goal that God had in mind for Jesus?

Like many Christmas songs, White Christmas embodied a longing for hope and peace and joy.  The Hebrew people themselves looked forward to their white Christmas, based on the prophecies of their coming Messiah.  They knew that someday their sins would be made white as snow.  Zacharias blessing and prophecy that he sang on his son’s naming day is a song much like our Christmas songs of today.  It foretold of the wonderful ministry his son would have and prophesied of the great Messiah he would usher in and all that the Messiah would do for His people.

Sometimes we may feel like an unlikely candidate for God’s plan or work.  Mary may have felt the same way too, but she yielded to the Will of God even though her sacrifice would be great.  She remained humble and trusted in God to do His work through her.

Today Pastor Terry gave a shorter message following our Children’s Christmas Program.  The account of Mary’s and the Shepherd’s responses during the birth of our Lord and Savior reminds us that we, too, need to ponder or treasure God’s Word and rejoice in the Wonder of the Newborn King!
