In this first half of Chapter 19 we see Paul coming to Ephesus and meeting a group of disciples that still had not received the Holy Spirit. In this lesson Pastor Terry discusses the laying on of hands, receiving of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues as it applied to the first century church. In this chapter Paul, along with Priscilla and Aquila, spend 18 months establishing a flourishing Christian congregation in Corinth. During this time the Jews brought Paul before Gallio, the Roman proconsul of Achaia (southern Greece). He determines that they should handle the matter amongst themselves. After this incident Priscilla and Aquila come across Apollos. They realize that he is missing some vital information about the gospel message that he is sharing. So they spend time discipling him. This chapter concludes Paul's second missionary journey.

In this section of Chapter 3 the Apostle John gives us the command to love. Loving our fellow brother and sisters in the Lord is the one behavior that shows we are followers of Christ. He uses the example Cain and Abel to illustrate his point. He reminds us that Jesus demonstrated the ultimate love to us when He laid down His life for us. We need to show love to be pleasing in God's sight.

What a wonderful proclamation was made by the Angel to the shepherds in the field! They pulled back the curtain on Heaven and gave us a peak. They told of the Savior who came from Heaven give us eternal life. There was a triune effect that took place when Jesus came to earth, died and rose for us. Pastor Terry will share those effects with us in this message.
